	The 3-day festival opened with the lighting of the sacred lamp by Sri Lankan filmmaker [[Prasanna Vithanage]]. This was followed by the screening of the opening film, In the Arms of the Tree, directed by [[Babak ~~Khajehpasha~~]]. In all, 25 feature films from 10 nations, namely, India, ⁠Iran, ⁠Uzbekistan, Nepal, Kazakhstan, Bangladesh, ⁠Hong Kong, ⁠Philippines, ⁠Sri Lanka, and ⁠Bangladesh, were screened. My Melbourne, directed by [[Imtiaz Ali]], [[Rima Das]], [[Onir]], and [[Kabir Khan]] was the closing film. The jury panel for the North East India Film Competition comprised Prasanna Vithanage (chairperson), [[Santwana Bordoloi]], and [[⁠Akashaditya Lama]].
