George started out in his formative years as a bass guitarist, and has a preference for fingerpicking and rhythm work. In his teens, he had his own band 'Dies Irae', formed along with [[Baines Isaacs]] on lead guitar, Beverly on rhythm guitar/vocals, and [[Dinesh Shenoy]] on drums, and performed at Vasco Da Gama Square in Fort Cochin, India, as part of the annual Cochin Carnival celebrations.
