Sayantan Dutta

Sayantan Dutta is a a PhD student in the Department of Cinema and Media Studies at the University of Chicago. Prior to this, he did his masters at the Department of Film Studies at Jadavpur University. He writes extensively on cinema, and has presented papers on Ritwik Ghatak and Glauber Rocha at various film seminars.

Author

He has compiled and translated a book named "Masterclass-e Kiarostami" in Bengali, published in 2023. Apart from academic writing, he writes critical and polemical articles in Bengali, and co-edits a Bengali webzine named Counter Shot.

He has made a short film titled "...after Asifa."
