Federation of Film Societies of India

Federation of Film Societies of India (FFSI) is the umbrella body of film-screening societies in India. Established in 1959, the first governing body had Satyajit Ray as the president, Ammu Swaminathan, Robert Hawkins and S. Gopalan as the vice presidents, and Vijaya Mulay and Chidananda Dasgupta as the joint secretaries.

Chapters

FFSI has five chapters /zones

  • East zone
  • West zone
  • North zone
  • South zone, &
  • FFSI-Keralam (Unlike the other four regions, Kerala State is a zone all by itself. It also has its own film festival—SiGNS Film Festival.)

Central EC

  • President: Kiran Shantaram
  • Vice-Presidents: Tapesh Sharma (North), Premendra Mazumder (East), Virendra Chitrav (West), N. Shashidhara (South), and TV Chandran (Kerala)
  • General Secretary: Amitava Ghosh
  • Joint General Secretaries: Pankaj Agarwal (North), Sankar Pal (East), Dilip Bapat (West). M Ponnam Ravichandra (South), & Radhakrishnan S (Kerala)
