Guwahati Asian Film Festival (GAFF) is an annual festival dedicated to showcasing and celebrating the diverse cinematic traditions of Asia. Organized with support of NFDC and the Ministry of I&B, it has Monita Borgohain, IAS, as the honorary festival director, Manju Borah, Utpal Borpujari and Srinivasa Santhanam as the advisory board membes, Himjyoti Talukdar as the creative and communication director, and Kishore Kumar Sarma as the programming director. The festival takes place at the Jyoti Chitraban Film Studio, Guwahati, Assam, India.

GAFF 2025

The 3-day festival opened with the lighting of the sacred lamp by Sri Lankan filmmaker Prasanna Vithanage. This was followed by the screening of the opening film, In the Arms of the Tree, directed by Babak Lotfi Khajepasha. In all, 25 feature films from 10 nations, namely, India, ⁠Iran, ⁠Uzbekistan, Nepal, Kazakhstan, Bangladesh, ⁠Hong Kong, ⁠Philippines, ⁠Sri Lanka, and ⁠Bangladesh, were screened. My Melbourne, directed by Imtiaz Ali, Rima Das, Onir, and Kabir Khan was the closing film. The jury panel for the North East India Film Competition comprised ​Prasanna Vithanage (chairperson), Santwana Bordoloi, and ⁠Akashaditya Lama.
