Bijaya Jena is an actress, and a National Film Awards winning director from Orissa. Following a diploma in acting at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), she acted in films such as KA Abbas's The Naxalites, Kamal Amrohi's Razia Sultan, Ketan Mehta's Holi, and Nicholas Meyer's The Deceivers. Between 1992 to 1995, she served on the FTII Governing Council.
Her writings on international cinema have been published in a variety of film magazines as well as in the official magazine of the Guwahati Asian Film Festival.
